Graduated from Troy University with a B.S. in Finance in 1988 and worked in the banking industry first as an internal auditor and later in Special Assets handling a large loan portfolio of troubled debt. Attended Birmingham School of Law and graduated with honors in 1998. Have worked in the legal industry as an attorney in private practice handling a large volume of problem Business Banking credits which needed restructuring and/or liquidating (either inside or outside of bankrutpcy court) and have defended numerous lender liability lawsuits.
