When she was a child, Shawna Woods wanted to be an author. She loved how the written word could change thoughts and minds. In college, she met another classmate whose passion for law sparked Shawna’s own ideas of justice.

To Kill a Mocking Bird is one of those books that inspires people to go to law school, and that was certainly true for Shawna. She wanted to have a profession that she could feel noble about and make a difference in. Between wanting to fight the good fight and her very inspirational classmate, she decided to pursue a law degree.
