Biography
Brooke K. Bryant is a founding partner with Merus Law, APC, and is a Certified Family Law Specialist. Her main area of expertise is family law, which she has been practicing since 2007. Brooke has experience handling divorces, child custody/visitation, child and spousal support, division of assets, guardianships, grandparents’ rights, adoptions, and domestic violence. She believes in a collaborative approach to family law whenever possible, but also has extensive litigation experience. Prior to founding Merus Law, APC, Brooke worked for a local firm handling family law and bankruptcy cases. She also has experience in probate and estate planning.
Brooke Bryant was honored as the “Top 10% in the USA” in Family & Divorce in 2017 by Lawyers of Distinction. That same year, she was named one of “10 Best Attorney in California” for exceptional and outstanding client service by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys, which is based on client and peer reviews. She received this same award by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2018 and 2019. In 2018 and 2019, she was nominated by her peers for Northern California’s Rising Stars List as published by Super Lawyers Magazine. This award is only given to 2.5% of licensed active attorneys in the state and is a great attestation to Brooke’s commitment to her clients and the practice of law. Brooke is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society, and a member of the Order of Juris and Trial Law Institute and Diversity Law Institute .
Brooke K. Bryant is a graduate of the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she was the events coordinator for the International Law Society, and also served as a representative for the Environmental Law Society. Prior to attending law school, Brooke graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of the Pacific Honor’s Program with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both English and History. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Brooke served as vice president of the honors fraternity, Phi Kappa Phi, and was also a member of the Mortar Board Society. During her third and final year at the university, she was nominated as a Rhodes Scholar, which marked the school’s first ever nomination of a student for that prestigious award.
In 2003, Brooke joined the law students at the University of California, Davis School of Law. While attending law school, Brooke served as a liaison for the visiting L.L.M. (Master of Laws) students, and helped to organize and promote intercultural events, which allowed the students to broaden their concept of international law. During the summer of her second year, she attended an international law program, hosted by the University of Oklahoma, in which she studied in Brussels, Belgium, and Geneva, Switzerland. While in Geneva, Brooke was able to work at the United Nations, specifically involving herself in the Working Group for Indigenous Peoples, which promotes the rights of various small communities around the world.
