Will is a native of Kentucky, born in Louisville-Jefferson County and raised in Wax, Grayson County. He began his legal career at the age of 18, working as a law clerk for attorney Mike Breen and Judge Kerry Morgan immediately after high school.

Will later joined the United States Army, serving in the Judge Advocate General's Corps as a non-commissioned officer (Staff Sergeant / E-6) for two enlistments. He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, Joint Special Operations Command, and the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), where he earned the Combat Action Badge.

During his military service, Will received numerous awards and decorations, including the North Atlantic Treaty Organization International Security Assistance Force Medal (NATO ISAF), Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with bronze star device, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal with two knots, Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal with two bronze oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Parachutist Badge, Chilean Foreign Parachutist Wings, and the Army Meritorious Unit Citation with two bronze oak leaf clusters.

Deeply committed to veterans’ issues, Will is an accredited attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs, a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and a Legacy Life Gold Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He also volunteers with Hospice of Southern Kentucky’s Veteran to Veteran program and has proudly served on the Kentucky Bar Association's Military Law Committee since his appointment by the KBA President in 2024.
