Raoaa Riad King

Raoaa Riad King is an El Paso trial attorney whose command of the courtroom was forged on the most serious cases the state prosecutes. As founder of The King Law Firm PLLC, she brings to the defense table a prosecutor's understanding of how cases are built, having spent years on the other side proving them. Her practice centers on criminal defense, with additional work in family law, employment law, and personal injury. Her career traces a deliberate arc through the Texas justice system. King began at the Texas Attorney General's Office in the Child Support Division, then moved into private practice in El Paso handling wrongful death and personal injury matters, before joining the El Paso County District Attorney's Office. There she rose from felony court into the Homicide Unit and Special Traffic Investigations, carrying some of the gravest matters a prosecutor can hold. She tried capital murder and intoxication manslaughter cases, including State of Texas v. Joseph Alvarez, in which the defendant received a life sentence for the murder of a former Assistant Attorney General. That experience now anchors her work for the accused. Having stood before juries on behalf of the state, King knows where prosecutions are strong and where they are vulnerable, and she applies that insight to high-stakes criminal investigations and charges of every degree. Her firm operates by what she calls its PRIDE ethos: Professionalism, Results, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence, a standard she carries into negotiation and trial alike. King was selected as a recipient of the 2026 Elite Lawyer award, a recognition reserved for attorneys with demonstrated courtroom accomplishment. Clients and peers note her preparation, her composure under pressure, and her readiness to take a case to trial when the situation calls for it. For a platform built to spotlight genuine litigators, King is a compelling honoree: a former homicide prosecutor who now defends the people of El Paso with the same rigor she once brought to the prosecution's table.
